Nafplio - Epidavros
Day trip Argolida, Mycenae-Nafplio-Epidavros, Full Day Tour (8-9 hours)
At 8:00 in the morning we leave Athens city in yourtaxi.gr. We are heading west, along the coastal road of Saronic Gulf, with its blue waters and beautiful views to the mountains of the Peloponnese.
Our first destination the Corinth Canal, with a brief stop for photos. After that follows a visit in the ancient city of Mycenae, the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon, the Palace and the Lion Gate, the Cyclopean Walls and the Vaulted King Tombs.
Then through Argos, we arrive at Nafplion with Palamidi and Bourtzi, an historic town which was the first capital of the Greek state in 1833. Also the ideal place for our lunch break. Then we leave for Epidaurus, the birthplace of Asklepios, the god of medicine son of Apollo, the healing center of the classical world. Epidaurus is famous for its world-famous ancient theater. a great building, one of the best preserved ancient Greek theaters with great acoustics, still used today.
Return to Athens from Epidaurus-Corinth road.
